Mixed Media/Reductive Pastels
.... created with soft pastels, however the process is a bit different than the traditional method used in pastel painting. Archival printmaking paper is used instead of sanded paper that is usually used when doing pastel painting. The two layer process involves putting pastel pigment on the surface, and also pulling off pigment. There is no framing behind glass with this pastel technique, as fixative is used to keep the pastel from smudging, then the piece is then sealed with cold wax and buffed to finish.
All these reductive pastels shown are mounted on wood cradle boards ready to display.
I would be happy to answer any questions or hear from you about interest in purchasing!
